I have a wide background over a large geography and organization type.
I have worked in East Africa, Eastern Europe, and North America with organizations in the for profit, non-profit and governmental spaces.
Organization sizes from tens of thousands to single practitioner lawyers. In areas such as manufacturing, legal, medical, retail, restaurants, embassies and military.
I have held many certifications from vendors such Microsoft, Solaris, Eaton, Webroot, and Connectwise and industry independent ones from ISACA, (ISC)2 and Comptia.
I hope to be able to bring the experience and insight I have gained to help out the visitors to this site. Welcome, Alan Edwards.

the Approach to Security & Prevention
No security system is a set and forget it always involves revisions, but do not think that throwing a big ticket security suite at a problem with make you bullet proof. Always start with the basics, if you do not know what you have, where it is and what value it holds it will be pure chance if you purchases get you the outcome promised to the board. Inventory and discovery must always come first. Then start with rock solid basics before implementing the AI based complex big ticket items.
